Makis found his Love for music from a very early age. He was so highly influenced by his elder brother’s vinyl collection ranging from Reggae, Soul, early Hip-hop, through to Chicago and acid house music, that by 1994 at the age of 14 he managed to get himself his own set of turntables.
Playing mainly house and garage music by 1996 Makis managed to get his first radio show on a local radio station. Having studied electronics at both school and college, Makis is also a very technical person. At college break times you would catch him in his local record shop spending his last bit of lunch money on the latest releases.
The name ”Dr Magis” came about in 2001 as a result of being the guy that would always fix the studio equipment or sort out the sound at his local radio station. His passion for music and mixing skills have seen him play in some of the UK’s most prolific venues. Twenty years later and his love for music is still growing. His musical diet to date mainly consists of soulful, funky and afro house music.
